Saludos Twin Cities Mezcal aficionados!

I'm originally from Minnesota but am currently a bartender and tour guide in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I landed in the Fall of 2019 after a year-long South American adventure with my brother. My original foray into mezcal was intended to be a 4-6 month crash course for supplemental liquor industry knowledge in general. But with the arrival of the pandemic a few months later, I had nowhere to go but further down the rabbit hole.

I got into the mezcal industry with Casa Cortes, working at their showroom Mezcalogia, designing their cocktail menu and bartending. I soon started meeting the highly skilled maestro mezcaleros they work with, and shortly after began giving mezcal tours in the area.

I now work with another well known brand, 5 Sentidos, bartending at their restaurant El Destilado in Oaxaca Centro, raising agave from seed and sorting out logistics and bottling for expressions they have in the pipeline.

I'm headed back home for the month of August and have a few things I'd like to share with you.
